About me

I am Daniel Aceituno, a recently graduate Computer Engineer looking forward to find my first full-time job in the software industry. My biggest strenghts are being a fast-learner, good teamworker, great organization and time handling skills, and being resolutive while facing adversity.

Currently the areas of the software sector that appeal the most to me are cybersecurity and game development, but my passion to learn and constantly improve myself provides me with enough curiosity to be open to different experiences and positions.

Software Developer and Tester - Ericsson Spain

October 2019 - June 2020

10-months student internship program at Ericsson in 5G-related product development. I was part of an integration and verification team working as a test-case designer and verifying drop requirements. From this experience I extracted great communication and teamworking skills, as well as deeper knowledge in Java coding, microservice-based applications and development management tools.

Introduction to Game Development - Final Project

Ongoing!

Currently taking the course GD50's Introduction to Game Development by HardvardX, which is a 12-week plan to learn the basics for game development and design.
While completing the course units I am developing the final assignment, which involves building a full game. I will be in charge of all the programming, graphics and sound.

Final Degree Project

"ScrambleSuit: A Tool for Evading Malware Analysis Sandboxes using PoW-based Timing Side Channels"

Final thesis for the Computer Science and Engineering Degree focused on cybersecurity, developing a system to automatically embed a malware analysis sandbox detection mechanism to arbitrary code samples, such as malware, to avoid detection and analysis. The project received great reviews as a high-quality research project, providing an in-depth study on the field of virtual environment fingerpinting and evasive malware detection. Results on the developed system were positive as generic malicious code samples were able to thwart detection from some of the most popular publicly-available sandboxes.
